Welcome to The Pavement

My name is Antonio Melonio and I have some thoughts. A couple of them coherent, even. This publication is where they turn into critical, occasionally poetic, and somewhat unhinged essays.

The human condition is changing at an unprecedented pace. The world is transforming, the future uncertain — full or risks, opportunities, and dramatic consequences. The Pavement documents these from an everyday person’s point of view.

This project has become far more successful than I ever expected. We are a community of more than 10,500 subscribers now. Thank you so much for reading my stuff.

All essays are available for free (and will remain so). No paid subscription required. Still, some financial support for my work would be greatly appreciated (see below).

Well, enjoy the ride.

Support my work

If you value independent, free, critical, and personal thoughts, please support writers such as me financially. It’s the only way to make sure the world doesn’t drown in curated bullshit. (And it helps me pay the rent.)

The best way to support my work is with a monthly subscription on Patreon or, even better, here on Substack:

A monthly subscription ensures writers receive a predictable, constant income. It’s how one makes a living, I guess.

And yes, I know. I know. I KNOW. Everyone hates subscriptions. I understand. That’s why you can support my work with a one-time tip (it’s like two clicks). No commitments there. Just some coffee money for your weird internet friend if you enjoyed an essay or two.

Thank you.

Read my novels

Yes, I also write weird novels. Paperbacks and eBooks are available on Amazon and in all major bookstores. You can also buy the eBook versions straight from my Patreon page (free for paid subscribers).

See you around,

Antonio Melonio
