Every sentence is dripping with a lot of ideas! I get the sense that Antonio does a lot of reading and then lets the ideas flow without a lot of editing. I enjoy Antonio’s style of writing as I there is a role for presenting concepts without further rehetoric, argument, or specific framing, but I wonder if Antonio is getting engagement?
An AI that is not being used tobuplift all of humanity should not exist. Why would anyone other than billionaires want this? When will this insanity end?
My job (which my boss calls "digital torture"--a preliminary step in Accounts Payable) is being replaced by AI-powered software. I'm part of the bargaining unit, so our union rep was able to file a grievance and get my employer to agree to give me the same hours stocking shelves. We're all astonished (and you're right, we shouldn't be) that this is happening at a food co-op in a progressive town of 30,000 people. Next will be the buyers and accountants. Without a universal basic income, I'm not sure how ordinary people will survive.
Thank you for sharing! Your writing generates main ideas very close together, and before they are expanded on the next concept is introduced. This (at least for me) creates situation where you have to put that idea to the side and leave it as unresolved.
I often engage with your writing when I am interested in exploring ideas and want perspective that I don’t get from mass media, work, home, or even other independent content creators.
Maybe the most important part: "We could shorten the workweek without cutting wages because gains in productivity belong to the people who constitute society, not just to capital holders who happen to own the latest servers."
Well that is simply not the case at this time. They are hoarding more and more billions using all sorts of mental gymnastics to justify it.
Until us, the people, united, awake to this system that is destroying the lives of its less fortunate citizens - stand up! We must distribute the value we ourselves produce.

Who do they think will buy all the stuff these machines make?
I have reinvented myself a few times already and I am tired.

Hey, great read as always. What if this 'god that delivers' finally forces us to redefine societal value beyond mere output metric's?
Thanks for this article. It was engaging and exemplified eloquently how I've been feeling too

I’m worried they’re going to try to off the rest of us once there are enough without work/income.
AI is scary, but it could also help us.
